ACPO, the Association of Chief Police Officers, policy on Intruder Alarms is an attempt to reduce false alarms and the wastage of police resources. All new installations must comply with all the latest standards and this is already proving to be very successful.

Older systems that prove troublesome and generate 3 false calls in a rolling 12 month period will lose police response and an update of the system will be necessary to reinstate police action.
