Monitoring Options

Monitored systems are linked by your phone line (and GSM network for high security systems) to the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). Each time the alarm is set, unset or activated signals are sent the ARC, who contact keyholders (and police if on police response) as per their instructions.

Redcare

BT Redcare

RedCARE offers active two-way monitoring to and from the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) 24 hours a day via an analogue telephone line. Alarm signals can be received by the ARC even when the phone is in use, with instant line cut detection and no additional call charges.

Redcare GSM

Redcare GSM enhances the secure Redcare service by using O2's GSM network. This enables the customer to be linked to the ARC by two completely separate signal paths. If one path fails or is interrupted the ARC is informed and the other path continues to monitor any subsequent alarms. It is the only continuously monitored secure system on the market, meeting the highest grade of European Standards (grade 4, BS 50131) Redcare GSM conforms to police policies on confirmed alarms, with no additional call charges on either radio or landline signal paths.

Keyholders

set of keys

Keyholders are a neccessity for a monitored alarm system. They must have keys for the property and must know how to operate the alarm system. Keyholders will be contacted in the event of an activation and are required to attend the premises.

For systems with police response, there is a requirement for a minimum of two keyholders that live no more than 20 minutes away from the property.

The owners of an alarmed premises are asked to choose a password, this is used to identify genuine callers to the Alarm Receiving Centre. All keyholders must be aware of the chosen password.

If you have difficulties in finding keyholders there are specialised companies available who, for a fee, can act as keyholders. We would be happy to recommend a company should you wish.
